Benefits of updating to snow leopard
Main problem is with Adobe CC, unfortunately for me I'm running a digitisation studio and that's all I actually need to run.
You can get around most issues by messing in preferences, but bridge still crashes out, and LR PS take an age to load.
In terms of features, my favorites are the integration with Clang/LLVM, Instruments upgrades (major), the new doco system and general improvements to the editor. Also keep in mind that you need to download and install the Snow Leopard version of the i Phone SDK once you upgrade to Xcode 3.2.
That is basically the same as the Leopard version, though it uses a version of Foundation that is closer to the actual i Phone - this is to reduce issues where a class works in the Simulator but not on the device.
I want to quickly change between two/three sourcefiles, but now I have to use my mouse instead because of Apple's "interesting locations" in the source.Xcode 3.1 should continue to work fine but is not supported. The upgrade contains a bunch of bug fixes and some new features. So…I am planning to update my macbook (13in, build 10K549, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3) from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to the latest version of El Capitan.I have a 1TB external hard drive but have not yet formatted it or backed up my files.
